Coffee Roastery & Cafe. One place I always hope for the bird is a small tree just south of the Kennie farmhouse, and today the hawk was perched on top of a pole (one of several) standing adjacent to that tree, and very visible from the dirt road that goes east from the house. This hawk is definitely our old friend who has been present for perhaps 10 or more winters now and absent in Springs and Summers. Today it was facing me as I viewed it from my car with spotting scope. It appears to be all striking white, with yellow feet, yellow cere covering the base of the beak, which is dark, dark eyes, and a large patch of blackish or dark brown behind the head above the nape.
