Hi All, Dad and I we happy to see the Spotted Towhee today at 4:08 P.M.. The bird was at a nearby feeder located at #20 Lakeshore Drive. The gentleman who lives there was a little hesitant about visitors but still allowed us into the yard to see the bird so those who go to his feeders may want to obtain permission and tread cautiously. To find his feeders drive/walk 200 meters past the Hawkins home and on your right you will see Lakeshore Drive. House #20 is the first home on the left on this very short cul-de-sac.

I spoke to Graham and Vicky Hawkins and they are going to spread around some millet to try and draw the towhee back to their feeders where visitors can be more easily accommodated.

Graham also told me that he first heard the towhee about a week ago but wasn’t sure what bird was making the odd sound, so this towhee may of already started to settle in, lets hope he stays long enough for all to enjoy.

Additionally I am not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere else but this bird is a very bright male and resembles what Sibley shows as the Great Plains race which means it is loaded with spots and very easy to identify. - All the Best in Birding, Clarence
