and I didn't get around to mine .  We have a home made birdfeeder which 
has glass on two sides & wood on the other two.  It has stops for the 
glass, actually grooves, and little 'porch' on deither side for birds.  T
he glass is angled, I can't describe it very well, I guess it has to be 
seen.  Anyway the point is that chicken wire as been put where the birds 
go, this slows down the bluejays to an acceptable level, they have to 
eat too!  I don't know the size of this chicken wire but it is soft & 
can be made smaller without a problem.
