Birding was somewhat slow, but we ended our trip there with about 45 species of birds and an Orchid still in bloom. . Here are some highlights: Pine Warbler-1 Red-eyed Vireo-1 Black-backed Woodpecker-1 male Great Blue Heron-1 + 1 at Sheet Harbour Passage Cedar Waxwing-2 Ipswich Sparrow-2 Black Guillemot-30 Red-necked Grebe-4 Common Loon-13 Shorebirds: White-rumped Sandpiper-11, Semipalmated Plover-9, Greater Yellowlegs-1 Black-bellied Plover-1 There was 1 each of C. Grackle, Robin, Evening Grosbeak and Goldfinch and I heard a couple of Purple Finches. Waterfowl: Long-tailed Duck-20, Hooded Merganser-2, Common Eider-21, Surf Scoter-5, Scoter sp. 60, Black Duck-6, Green-winged Teal-3, Red-breasted Merganser-1, Canada Goose-7 flying and an additional much smaller Goose flying with them but too distant for me to ID.
