That's a bit of an odd place to find a Ruffed Grouse tailfeather, but I'm pretty sure that's what it is.

For comparison, check out this site on gamebird feathers and scroll down to the bottom for ruffed grouse.

Subject: [NatureNS] Question: feather identification

I put an image of a feather on the web:
http://myweb.dal.ca/uhoeger/webimages/feather.jpg
Any opinion what species this feather may belong to is most appreciated!
It was found today around the Tupper Building in the middle of Halifax.

So please share your wisdom with me.

Thanks

Ulli
