<a href="../200910/16234.h This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0007_01CA4287.49187C00 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Although there aren't aerial photos of the whole province, there is still quite a lot of useful details all over. There is another online map that isn't as user-friendly as the map Randy provided, but shows aerial photos of a different area of the province. It was done by the government of NS for the damage assessment of Hurricane Juan. You need pop-ups enabled for the application to work. http://gis4.natr.gov.ns.ca/website/juan/viewer.htm Lucas Berrigan From: naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca [mailto:naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca] On Behalf Of Peter Payzant Sent: October 1, 2009 9:28 AM To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca Subject: Re: [NatureNS] on line air photos and maps One problem may be that photos only seem to be available for part of the province. If you check out the Pictou-Antigonish region you'll see them (if you are zoomed in to 1:250000 or smaller, as Randy says). I wasn't able to find photos for anywhere else. Peter Payzant Randy Lauff wrote: Folks, It isn't perfect...I'm hearing BS here about a FREE service that is extremely useful and convenient. By the way, I had nothing to do with the development of it, nor do I work for either level of government involved. In the past, if you had wanted to look at so many air photos, you had to order them yourself at great expense, or go to a library or other source to work with the hard copies. I've done that, it's a pain relative to this. To access the air photos, I would still use the link I provided (https://ns.nfis.org/mapserver/ka-map/htdocs/). You'll see the menu on the left..."ortho photos" only appears once you're zoomed in to a scale of 1:250000. Click that option, the photos appear. ------=_NextPart_000_0007_01CA4287.49187C00 Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <html xmlns:v=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" = xmlns:o=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" = xmlns:w=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:word" = xmlns:m=3D"http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2004/12/omml" = xmlns=3D"http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40"> <head> <meta http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Dus-ascii"> <meta name=3DGenerator content=3D"Microsoft Word 12 (filtered medium)"> <style> <!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:"Cambria Math"; panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4;} @font-face {font-family:Calibri; panose-1:2 15 5 2 2 2 4 3 2 4;} @font-face {font-family:Tahoma; panose-1:2 11 6 4 3 5 4 4 2 4;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {margin:0cm; margin-bottom:.0001pt; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"; color:black;} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {mso-style-priority:99; color:blue; text-decoration:underline;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {mso-style-priority:99; color:purple; text-decoration:underline;} span.EmailStyle17 {mso-style-type:personal-reply; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; color:#1F497D;} .MsoChpDefault {mso-style-type:export-only; font-size:10.0pt;} @page Section1 {size:612.0pt 792.0pt; margin:72.0pt 72.0pt 72.0pt 72.0pt;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> </style> <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:shapedefaults v:ext=3D"edit" spidmax=3D"1026" /> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:shapelayout v:ext=3D"edit"> <o:idmap v:ext=3D"edit" data=3D"1" /> </o:shapelayout></xml><![endif]--> </head> <body bgcolor=3Dwhite lang=3DEN-CA link=3Dblue vlink=3Dpurple> <div class=3DSection1> <p class=3DMsoNormal><span = style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; color:#1F497D'>Although there aren’t aerial photos of the whole = province, there is still quite a lot of useful details all over.
