Index of Subjects I dont know of anyone but will keep my ears open. A few years ago someone brought me a canary that had landed on them in -21C temp in Feb. I found the owner and we figured it had been loose for 5 days...at -20.....boggles the mind. He was hungry but fine otherwise and very happy to see his owner :) Helene Helene Van Doninck DVM Cobequid Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre RR#1 Brookfield Nova Scotia Canada B0N1C0 hvandoninck@eastlink.ca www.cwrc.net http://cwrcblog.blogspot.com/ 1-902-893-0253 -----Original Message----- From: naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca [mailto:naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca]On Behalf Of Suzanne Borkowski Sent: Wednesday, September 09, 2009 10:59 AM To: naturens Subject: [NatureNS] Another Found Budgie Hi Everyone; Last night, just before dark, a small, unusual bird took off from my deck. It flew around to the front of the house and landed in a tree. I got my binocs on it, and was amazed to see a Budgie! I called it and it flew towards me but zoomed by just over my head. I called it again, and this time it hovered over my shoulder, but didn't trust me enough to land. It flew into my vines. It let me reach in and grab hold of it, with just a few nips at my fingers. I brought it in and put it in an old birdcage I had. I gave it a little dish of water and some mixed wild bird seed (all I had on hand). It went for the millet - voraciously. This morning it's singing and chirruping happily. It's a cute little thing - obviously someone's pet. If anyone knows of someone who lost their budgie please call me at 445-2922 I live in Clayton Park - old part, below Lacewood Drive. Cheers; Suzanne __________________________________________________________________ Looking for the perfect gift? Give the gift of Flickr! http://www.flickr.com/gift/
