This morning, on my way back from a fogged-out sea-watch at Western Head, I encountered four juvenile Spruce Grouse standing in the middle of Hwy 331 about 4 km south of Hwy 103 near E. Port Medway (and still just about in Queen's Co.). Fortunately, they flew off into the woods a minute or so before a platoon of NS Power trucks, lights flashing, came down the road on their way to some storm-related outage.
