Hi Everyone
Today is beautiful so i decided to walk to Northern Light. On my way Neil
Green from the coast guard station stopped and asked me to ID a different
bird he seen near the coast guard station on the beach. So we decided to go
and get some good pictures. We took the photos to the bird banding station
where Lance and Peter were and Lance said it was a Black-crowned Night
Heron. What a great find. Will put pictures up on my Brier Island Nature
Blog as soon as neil sends them to me. I also went to pond cove today lots
of shorebirds, semi-palmated sandpipers, least sandpipers, semi-palmated
plovers, 1 baird sandpiper. Also had 2 Canada Geese on big pond side and 2
northern harriers hunting near there. There is also purple loosestrife in
bloom along big pond.
