The peak numbers were late in coming to our area this year (more "normally" in very late July and first week of August), but they seem to have stayed quite high now for a couple of weeks. At 12:30 p.m., an hour after high tide, I was at Wolfville Harbour, where SHOREBIRDS ROOSTING below and along the railroad tracks included about 30 YELLOWLEGS (mostly greaters?), a few DOWITCHERS (very probably short-billed), and perhaps 40 unidentified PEEPS (no willets were noted).
