Hi

We have at least two "bald headed" blue jays visiting our feeders. We are
up on the North Mountain, just north of Berwick. They do indeed look very
strange! But apart from the baldness they appear to be perfectly fine. It
is difficult to tell whether they are youngsters but we think they probably
are.

We would be interested to hear if anyone knows anything about why these
birds are bald.

Sara & Mark, Burlington, King's County
