Hi Noel,
=20
The migration season (the actual movement south as opposed to the =
general movements of family groups and flocks that gather post breeding) =
has already started for shorebirds, though I suspect they aren't a group =
that would be a focus of your window strike study. Small numbers of some =
passerine species have also started to move south. By mid-August, =
flycatcher migration will be well underway as will a number of the =
earlier moving warbler species and by the end of the month most male =
Ruby-throated Hummingbirds will have left the province. On the other =
end, the migration fo sparrows, finches and a number of other species =
can extend to the end of October or later. However, the range you've =
stated, from mid-August to mid-October, will cover the majority of the =
migration window.
=20
All the best,
=20
Lance

	Hi folks,

	=20

Sorry for the bother, but I'm trying to set up a monitoring program for =
the fall migration season; checking downtown buildings for night time =
strikes. My understanding is that the birds start moving around the =
middle of August, and continue through sometime in October.=20

	=20

If anyone could confirm, or correct this I would be most grateful.

	=20

	Thanks, Noel Taussig
