--Apple-Mail-616-884723844 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed; delsp=yes Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hello everyone: i was out atlassing today and had two birds that were calling but I can't determine what they were: The bird was calling from near the top of a very large spruce right at the end of a cliff on the Fundy coast in Chipman Brook (right by the coastal B&B for those familiar with the area). I did get one brief glimpse of it when it moved from one mass of branches to another. It looked the size of a warbler white beneath and it looked to be browning on top. A recording of two calls of one of them is here. A second was calling a bit further down the coast. http://myweb.dal.ca/pmkelly/PICT0001A.MOV The other bird did not record well. It was singing in mature deciduous from the top of a very large birch tree. THe call had the same pacing of notes of a black-throated green warbler, but it was six notes. The first three were the same duration, the next two the same note as the thirst three, but a bit shorter, and the final one was a longer that the first three, and dropped in pitch then went back up, like the final. Any ideas? Thanks.
