Hi all,
Not sure what has been reported about subject area as I have been away for a few weeks so here goes anyway :
After it has been confirmed that the piping plover nest has failed we found yesterday a c. tern on its nest in the same marked area.
It appears that a pair of killdeer and spotted sandpipers have bred succesfully.
I am dismayed by the way many people completely ignore the plover signs. They stop, appear to be reading the sign, then continue (with their loose running dogs) as if they are determined to show off their ignorance.
I have also noticed that many birders don't appear to show much more concern. If you are determined to chase the little egret, please stay on the beach till the end, then follow the run in westerly direction. And thank you !
Henk kwindt, Cow Bay, NS.
