--Apple-Mail-462--796621844 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed; delsp=yes Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi everyone: I have been doing a lot of birding in the last little while, and still come across the odd bird sound that I don't recognise. http://myweb.dal.ca/pmkelly/MysterySong.mov This one has been driving me nuts as I feel I should know it. It was calling repeatedly from a large area of regenerating pine and spruce (all about 2-3 metres high) and likely a Christmas tree lot. The other one I came across today and could not get a clean recording. It was in mature deciduous, with a some mature conifers on the road that goes to the tower at the top of Martock. I did get a glimpse of it, as the call followed it from one side of the road to the other, but with the lighting all I could really see was that it was the size and shape of a warbler. I have listed to the entire warbler section on Stokes but can't find it. It is like the black-throated blue. but it does four fairly loud "squaks" with to change from first to last, and they are slower than a black-throated blue, so that you hear each one with just a pause between each. (By louder it was louder than a black-and-white warbler would be at the same distance, but not as loud but closer to that of a parula) Any ideas? Thanks.
