Hi Margie,
Did you consider a female redwinged blackbird?

  Sorry no photo yet but I have yet another strange (to me) bird. It is =
a=20
  grosbeak beak only smaller; not black and not pink. the bird is =
bigger=20
  than a purple finch female, and not as large as a rose breasted =
grosbeak=20
  female. It has golden brown head and a golden flush down over the =
shoulders=20
  and the upper breast. It has some striping but not as much as a female =

  purple finch. It is very shy and it doesn't stay long. It likes the =
top of=20
  the maple tree on the Liverpool side of the property but flies into =
the=20
  grapevine to get sunflower seeds from the chickadee. It appears to be =
alone.=20
  Any movement even from the hummingbird and it flies away. I have tried =
to=20
  get a photo and will continue to do so.
  Oh I accidentally downloaded the hummingbird in my hand photos into a =
file=20
  name I had listed to delete and they are gone. Things are quite a bit=20
  quieter with them since his accident so I am not sure if he survived =
or not.=20
  Perhaps not.. That would be sad.
