This morning's CBC news (again 3 cheers for public radio to wake up to!) had an attention-getting item on New Brunswick introducing a new law banning the sale of a bunch of pesticides with 2,4-D in them and environmentalists predictably complaining that the law doesn't go far enough in some respects. So, because I suspected our Chronicle Herald would have nothing on this, I Googled "telegraphjournal" and got the home page of that St. John? newspaper. Then I discovered they have a series of PHOTOGRAPHS in a section called SIGHTINGS, and most of the photos are of natural subjects, mostly birds, but also including a spring peeper, 2 moose behind the new fence along the highway south of Fredericton?, etc., etc., and most or all of the photos have informative captions, including responses from Jim Wilson on birds and Don McAlpine on herptiles etc. Check it out.
