At the mouth of River Philip there is a post from the remains of an old bridge. This post is an excellent perch for surveying the river. Last year a Bald Eagle was there daily. This year, in the spring, there was a male and female Bald Eagle keeping watch. In the past couple of weeks some buoys appeared in the river near this spot and now a floating boat dock has been installed. Needless to say the Eagles have not been seen since.
