Good morning. I went out to harvest some rhubarb to fill an order and lo and
behold my main patch is sheltering at least 6 tiny (peeping very quietly)
sparrows. I think Momma is a song sparrow. She wasn't very pleased with my
intrusion so I left things alone for now. I hope we don't get hot
temperatures or wind in the next week because I need to pull that stuff.
Watching from the window, there is a lot of popping in and out and it looks
like one is using the stalks and leaves as a slide! Very endearing.
Last year there were mice or voles sheltering there. A bit disconcerting
when one doesn't expect to have something landing on a sandaled foot.
