Hi All=2C

Last evening I went to Cow Bay in search of the Tri-coloured herons whic=
h I=20

did not find. The trip was not wasted as I had a great walk on a beautiful

evening. Birds I saw............

 - 4 Great blue heron=2C one was a juvenile.

 - 12 Black bellied plover.

 - 2 Piping plover.

 - 2 Killdeer (possibly 4).

 - 3 Sanderling

 - 2 Spotted sandpiper.

 - 2 Greater yellowlegs.

 - 10+ Willet.

 - Herring=2C Gt black-backed & ring-billed gulls.

 - 1 tern sp?

 - 4 Barn swallow.

 - 2 Ospery on an active nest overlooking the western end of the marsh.

 - Black duck including a brood of 8 ducklings.

 - 2m & 1f Common merg.

 - several Common eider off shore with a creche of at least 12.

 - 1 Red wing blackbird.

 - 1 Nelson=2Cs sharp-tailed sparrow (heard only).

Any one who=2C like me=2C hasn't been to Cow Bay beach lately may be surpr=
ised to=20

see the changes=2C I assume=2C brought about by the winter storms. The cobb=
le beach=20

wall has been breached in two places allowing salt water to enter the marsh=
/lake

at high tide. Like many others=2C this a very active dynamic beach with man=
y changes=2C

both man made and natural over the years.

Cheers=2C
