All:

Marie Reid reported today that two Tricoloured Herons have been present for a
couple of days on the saltmarsh behind Silver Sands Beach, Cow Bay. Today, she
obtained some photos, one of which I have put on the NS-RBA photo site, for the
record.

Note that this species, along with other "southern" herons, nests as far north
as southern Maine. Can we expect this here soon?

And, has anyone followed up on the report a week or so ago in the Chronicle
Herald of nesting Great Egrets near Domonion?

Cheers, Ian

Ian McLaren
