May 21st=2C6:30-8:30pm
first seen the franklin's gull in back cove=2Cit flew towards Cow Bay so I =
decided
to see if I could relocate it so I walked to Silver Sands Beach where I fou=
nd it
again.it then flew towards the moose where I lost sight of it.as I was sear=
ching
for it I noticed another gull coming towards me with a differnt color patte=
rn
that did not fit the franklin's that I was just looking at=2Cit was a laugh=
ing
gull.within minutes the two were flying side by side.after about an hour bo=
th
birds flew in the direction of Devil's Island(maybe to McCormick's Beach fo=
r the
night?)got some distant photos=2Cgood enough for I.D.but not great by no me=
ans.the
caspian tern was flying over the water when I was in back cove and flying i=
n the
direction of Devil's Island=2Cthere were also two other large terns further=
 out
flying in the same direction but too far to identify.
other birds of note were=3B
3 piping plovers=2C1 bay-breasted warbler=2C2 veerys(singing)
