Hi=2C James.
=20
It's possible that someone or something has drained the pond.

Hi all:
=20
On the owl route last night I would say that there were more spring peepers=
 and wood frogs per stop than in any other year. I have one stop though wh=
ere the chorus of the frogs=2C both spring peepers and wood frogs usually h=
urts the ears. This year maybe two single frogs were vocal. I must admit =
that I'm somewhat perplexed over this. Any ideas as to why this might be s=
o? Does a drop in air temperature cause frogs to stop vocalizing? This wa=
s close to the end of the route=2C but the temperatures were still higher t=
han in most other years. The temperature had dropped from plus 8 to plus 2=
.
