Hi,

Liz and I wandered around the wooded area between the new Eagle Landing
subdivision and our own property just to the north, this morning. The
resident Barred Owls were very vocal (I'd like to think, in response to my
attempted hooting), and sounded so like the Owl Survey CD that I had to
check to make sure someone wasn't playing it. There were several singing
Chestnut-sided, Yellow-rumped and Yellow Warblers, a Redstart, 2 +
Black-and Whites, several Blue-headed Vireos, Purple Finches and a Least
Flycatcher. There were also 2-3 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks (+ another at our
feeder), and I forgot to mention yeaterday the large number on Brier on
Sat. 2 sadder notes - The Red-tail nest there showed no sign of activity,
and there is plenty of evidence that the subdivision is going to be
expanded, more houses are likely to be built, and I suspect that those woods
won't be there in a few years.

Richard
