All: My stroll around "Back Cove" of Hartlen Pt. this a.m. produced little - a couple of Palm Warblers and 4 "Myrtles" were pretty. On the way out, I met Elizabeth Doull at the beacon tower, where Terry Paquet had found yesterday's WHITE-EYED VIREO, and she'll tell you about her finding the bird still there. After a few "pishes," I didn't wait in hope of seeing it again. I detoured on the way back to the car into the alders and clump of spruces beyond (south of) the helicopter landing pad (via gravel road from near Coast Guard communications "shack"), and "pished" out a couple of chickadees and myrtles, followed by presumably another WHITE-YEED VIREO. It moved away rapidly when the chickadees had checked me out close up, and gave me no chance for even a quick record photo. Cheers, Ian Ian McLaren Halifax
