May 2:
The Gt Egret seen two days ago (Thurs) in the Elderkin's pond in
Greenwich,Kings Co. and reported by the Thextons appears to have moved
on. It was not seen there yesterday by Paul Elderkin or by another local
resident, Eleanor Mason, who first spotted the bird flying in on Thursday
and has a home overlooking the pond. I checked yesterday and today around
mid-day without finding the bird also.

Today I found a pair of Canada Geese going through aquatic courting displays
(and successful copulation) in Elderkin's pond, plus a pair of Ring-necked
Ducks grooming themselves on the edge of the pond vegetation.

The Chipping Sparrows have arrived back. Two were seen at our Wolfville
Ridge feeders yesterday (Friday).

There were 3 Willets and 2 Yellowlegs sp. in the Wolfville Harbour this
morning.

Cheers,
Judy Tufts
