On April 12, in an old gypsum pond, near New Port Landing, I observed 4 painted turtles basking on a slender log, in the heat of the sun. In the same vicinity,I observed what looked to be a Barn Swallow. In the salt marsh behind Cheverie Beach I saw 3 Great Blue Herons, and in the fields above we flushed out a pair of pheasants Lesley Butters
