Hi Ken,=20

It must have been nice to have the Bunting, and your yard sounds pretty =
active as well. you could likely do without the bandits though. the =
peepers are welcome though. any kildeer behind your place yet?=20
starting to think about the spring count and annual trip to B.P. must be =
spring.=20

too bad about the area being cut, might be time to change routes I =
wonder. surely there must be a balance where they can make money, and =
leave a few trees standing.=20

oh, also saw a bunny rabbit last evening, it was mostly brown.=20

cheers,
g

  Hi all
Jean McGee passed on news that someone from Heatherton ( Antigonish =
Co.) had sent her a photo of a male INDIGO BUNTING taken April 14 at a =
Heatherton feeder. =20

Rick Ferguson, Charlie Kendall and I ran route 14 Owl survey route =
last night ( Sunny Brae-Caledonia). There was not much to report. We =
heard only 1 distant Barred Owl, 3 American Woodcock and 3-4 Wood Frogs. =
There were however lots of jets to study! The route has become a =
waste-land and is now almost totally cut-over. It traverses through the =
area burned in the Trafalgar fire (late 1970's ) which had been =
replanted with pine and other conifers. This is even now being harvested =
in a cut-over method. Not a great owl habitat.=20

No Spring Peepers were heard last night, but as I took in my feeders =
this evening (April 15) I heard Peepers from the old Westray mine site =
behind my house in Plymouth- my first for this spring. =20
When we arrived back to my place last night there were 2 Racoons at my =
feeders and 2 Deer in the yard heading in the direction of the feeders.=20
