Hi all
No the Chimney Swifts have not arrived back, at least as far as I know, but today's announcement of new schools in the province has some ramification on a staging area for Chimney Swifts in Pictou Co. as the Temperance St. School is one of the schools scheduled to be replaced. This school is indeed an antique at 116 years old but has likely been a staging area and spring-summer roost for Chimney Swifts for many decades. Lets hope those involved in the announcement of this event are aware of our South American visitors that are considered a species of special concern. Lets hope accommodation is made for this special and unique bird.
concerned
Ken
