It was good of Eric Mills to find and Richard Stern to document by photo the
hybrid teal at the Canning Aboiteau. Hopefully other photos can be taken of
this rarity.

Here are a couple of useful discussions with images of this hybrid, which is
known in Europe, Japan and N. America.

Images on those sites and others show, like Richard Stern's, that hybrid drakes
look more like Common than Green-winged. One wonders if other hybrids have been
overlooked among the 20-odd Common drakes recorded here since 1970.
