Merry Christmas all,

Dad and I went for a quick try at the Snowy Owl I saw on Tuesday, but to no
avail. The landscape is much greener and browner than 2 days ago, so perhaps
the owl found a better (whiter) place to roost. I did however see a Northern
Shrike before we left the yard, which appeared to be an adult. At Port Howe
while we were examining a lone male Common Goldeneye, first one and then a
second Peregrine Falcon flew over us and began to harrass the local pigeon
population. At least one was an adult male, the second I didn't get a good
enough look at to determine age/gender. To finish off the day we saw a light
phase Rough-legged Hawk in the Fort Lawrence area of NS/NB (not sure which
side of the border we were on at the time).
Hope everyone is having a great holiday.

Bruce
