The overnight snow and rain brought four ORIOLES to our feeders today. They are competing for grape Jelly and are being harassed by the resident Mockingbird. Also have PINE WARBLER and the two Dickcissels are still here. I did not see the Great Egret at the pond today but didn't have much time to look. Question: I have reliable reports of a NORTHERN CARDINAL at Blues Mills (near Whycogomagh) for about a week now. Have we had reports of Cardinals this late in past here in Cape Breton?? -- David W.
