All: I guess this is an addition to the winter list. Three of us saw a Virginia Rail very well when it flushed and flew close past us at Conrad Beach during yesterday's Hfx-Dmth CBC. If you want to chance that it will flush again, go out toward the beach on the boardwalk but get off at the steps on the left before you reach to beach and take the dirt trail running to the n.e. inside the dunes. When you reach the row of spruces left of the trail, turn left and walk along the soggy ground between the row of spruces and the saltmarsh (flooded at high tide). The bird was flushed not far beyond the first spruces. I imagine it might be anywhere along the edge of the salt marsh. Cheers, Ian McLaren
