Halifax Field Naturalists - Sunday, December 7 - Purcell's Pond Hike
This will be a hike in the area between Purcell's Cove and Spryfield, crossing the Captain Arnell Lands to reach a viewpoint between Purcell's Pond, Flat Lake, and Colpit Lake. The objective of the hike is to show participants a natural landscape near the city, with woods and water, bogs and barrens, and rocks and ravines. Be prepared for a wet and rocky trail, and bring some water and a snack. This hike will take place rain or shine.

      . Time and place: 12:00 noon at the Frog Pond Parking Lot off Purcell's Cove Road, 5 minutes from the Armdale Rotary, on Metro Transit Route 15.  
      . Duration: 4 hours  
      . Difficulty: Mostly moderate, but with some difficult and slippery sections
