BlankWhat did we just see at our feeder this morning?  It was feeding on the
ground like a song sparrow, but bigger.  It looks something like a female
purple finch with a biege cheek and eye stripes, but heavily streaked on
both breast and underparts. Also, the beak  is finer--more like a female
redwing blackbird. The size is between a house sparrow and a
starling--closer to the latter. There's a bit of dull gold coloring between
the lines on its wings. No wing bars. No mustache or black breast patch as
in song sparrow.
