Snowy owl movements follow a certain multi-year cycle that is connected to the abundance 
cycle of their prey. In good rodent years they stay put, in bad ones they have to migrate 
South.  Several years ago we had three at Hartlen Point.
For last winter I don't even recall a sighting from CSI.

Looks like a good Snowy Owl year -for birders not the owls.
