We were surprised to see the male Red-bellied W.P. pecking away at an apple on one of our trees late this afternoon. Don also saw a Bluejay doing the same thing earlier. These apples are definitely wormy. Do you think the woodpecker could be after the apple maggots? Lois Codling L. Sackville
