Good afternoon. Nice here in White Point right now. We missed, entirely, the storm the other day but not so last night! We have an honest 10" out there on the flat, maybe more. I have just seen something I haven't seen before. I have a solitary oriole at the feeder. It had been eating some grapes or the seeds inside, but recently it has taken over the feeder. It chased away a couple Blue Jays after there was quite a bit of displaying with wing flapping and tail fanning, lunging that sort of thing. Suddenly oriole went into stabbing with its beak and shrieking. Blue Jays left, Woodpecker left and Juncos moved down to the driveway seed. I don't know what seed it is specifically interested in. I have a wild bird mix and I have a finch mix with Niger seed. I could try to load more of one particular food for it. I am going to put out a couple apple slices as well as I remember them eating them other years. Any other suggestions? Marg Millard, White Point, Queens http://margmillard.ca
