Our male Red-bellied Woodpecker returned today after an absence of 3
days, as far as we know (observation time is severely limited these
days!) I found out why they are called red-bellied when he came to our
suet feeder, which he must access upside-down. Yes, they do have red
bellies, which are not obvious in the usual position!

Also today we had a male Evening Grosbeak, a male Red-winged Blackbird
and a Red-tailed Hawk added to our usual list. Yesterday we had a visit
from 5-6 female Br.-headed Cowbirds, as best I could tell, and the day
before an un-IDed warbler (dull female Nashville?).
