All:

Carl Haycock phoned from Brier I. to say that he heard from three different
people about a large, gannet-like bird stumbling about on the wooded trail to
the Balancing Rock on Long I. He went to search (by flashlight) at dusk with no
success. This description resembles Blue-footed Booby, a bird of the Pacific.
Intriguing, whatever it was, and if anyone is down that way, they might want to
look for it (or its corpse).

Cheers, Ian McLaren
