Hello all,=20

Even though the post below was sent to NatureNB by Stu Tingley last =
week, it might be a good heads-up (no pun intended) for those of us =
living in NS. Another posting from David Christie mentions some swallows =
feeding over his home in Mary's Point, NB this afternoon. He believes =
they were Cave Swallows. His description of the birds were as follows:

"I stopped immediately and noted that they had the stocky, short-winged, =
square-tailed look of a CLIFF SWALLOW [Hirondelle =E0 front blanc] but =
that they had a different call note that seemed higher-pitched, shorter =
and softer than the calls I hear from Cliff Swallows during the summer."

There appears to be a significant push of Cave Swallows into the =
northeast
underway over the past few days with numbers reported at Point Pelee =
in
Ontario, in coastal Connecticut and, most significantly (for us here =
in NB),
two at Tadoussac, Quebec on Friday. Previous confirmed records of this
species in New Brunswick are from Point Lepreau on November 3, 2003 =
and at
Murray Corner, Westmorland County, on Nov. 11-12, 2005.

There is also some indication of an eastward push of Franklin's Gulls
underway so keep this species in mind also!

  Good Birding,

  Stu Tingley
  Shediac Cape, NB
