Hi everyone; The brisk north winds brought a modest migration to the Prospect Peninsula last Friday, and when I hiked the trail to Wagner's Beach there were numerous flocks of robins coming in off the ocean, and proceeding up the peninsula. There were also a few small flocks of goldfinches, and one flock of about 10 redpolls. Offshore there was a group of 40+ gannets plunge-diving, gradually drifting west. Land birds were scarce, however, with only two passerines in the shrubs, and I could only ID one of them, but it was an immature Philadelphia Vireo, just the second record for the peninsula.
