Sept. 13. Birding was a little slow, but I did manage to run into a few groups of birds giving me a total of 58 species. There was a single Red-necked Grebe , 24 Black Guillemot, a Peewee, a Baltimore Oriole, a Catbird and Hermit Thrush and a PRAIRIE WARBLER. There were at least 25 White-winged Crossbills including a number of heavily streaked young ones but alas no sign of them being fed by adults. Two Merlin were hanging around the mudflat back of Mozier Cove where some of the shorebirds were. I noted a couple of Monarch and Red Admiral butterflies and unid'd Sulfur.
