Hi David

A new aquaculture initiative - check out http://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/aquaculture/shellfish/abalone_e.htm and http://irap-pari.nrc-cnrc.gc.ca/success/abalone_e.html

Yes, as you suggested, it is a West-coast species from California to the Queen Charlottes.

The reference in the magazine is probably to the greenhouse aquaculture operation in Vogler's Cove

Andrew

Dear All, Oct 28, 2008
The Oct 27 issue of Maclean's (p. 69) has a picture of red abalone
from N.S. Should this have been BC ?

Yt, DW
