OCT. 19, 2008 - Pat & I did a fall colours drive along WOODSIDE Road,
along the foot of the North Mountain (north of Canning), and the
COLOURS were very beautiful.

At Lakeville in Silver Lake, at about 2 p.m. there were about 400
CANADA GEESE -- no other geese, and no ducks at all were spotted.

In Canard Pond, oodles of ducks were very wary (no doubt because of
hunting season): besides uncounted mallards and black ducks, about 100
++ GREEN-WINGED TEALS, at least 8 male N. PINTAILS, and at least 12
AM. WIGEONS.
---------------
Carolyn Moore called to report a dozen or so probable GREATER
YELLOWLEGS in the Wolfville Harbour, and a GREAT BLUE HERON at North
Grand Pre (Long Island).

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville
