Hi All, This is a summary of a report that I sent to Nature NS earlier in the week that apparently disappeared into cyberspace. All the details are not important now as most of the birds are likely gone. One possible exception is the mallard size Cackling Goose found feeding with a large number of Canada Geese last weekend at the Port Joli Observation Area located 200 meters down the St. Catherines River Road. Dad, Mike King and I had a fun weekend birding from Mike’s place to Cape Sable Island and managed to net 114 species. Highlights included Cackling Goose, Gray-cheeked Thrush, Dickcissel, Blue Grosbeak, Fox Sparrow, Philadelphia Vireo, Yellow-breasted Chat, Prairie Warbler, Great Egret, Fork-tailed Flycatcher, Peregrine Falcon, Northern Cardinal, Great Crested Flycatcher and a trail of Indigo Buntings and Baltimore Orioles. Thanks to the CSI gang for helping us to round out our list. - All the Best in Birding, Clarence
