Robins=2C 30+ Common Redpolls*=2C 50+ Dark-eyed Ju= ncos=2C Blue Jays=2C Black-capped Chickadees=2C Red-breasted Nuthatches *The first sighting of Redpolls was a pair=2C I assumed it had to be someth= ing else=2C although they were in birch trees and I do not recall seeing an= y catkins at that time=2C then a flock of about 30 flushed at once and proc= eeded across a small field and into the woods=2C a red cap on one of the or= iginal pair was obvious but difficult to believe=2C Redpoll=2C this time of= year and on a day like today. After returning home I went into the woods b= ehind us and found several birch trees with few to countless catkins on the= m...to me this has always been Redpoll food. We encountered one other vehicle on this unpaved road that runs parallel to= the BOF=2C begins at the Bishop Mtn Rd.
