All:

A number of birders turned up at City Field, accessed from the road neaarest
Bedfor Basin running from Seaview Park along to the container pier. (See Dave
Currie's earlier explict instructions.) There were lots of birds, including all
of yesterday's. Among less usual ones were at least 5, probably more, Indigo
Buntings (all in female or First Basic plumage) one of which was suspiciously
warm-coloured and streakless on the breast (cf. Lazuli). Also seen were the two
late E. Wood-Pewee (i.d. as Eastern confirmed by Dave Currie's photos of
yesterday), Y-b. Cuckoo, Philadelphia Vireo (new), House Wren (new), the
tail-less Lark-Sparrow, and a Bobolink. One panic flight of House Sparrows
consisted of a minimum of 30 birds. The small flock of Jungle Fowl (a.k.a.
more-or-less wild-type domestic chicken) is still hanging in from last winter.

Cheers, Ian McLaren
