 Hi All=2C
Here are a few recent observations from up here in the highlands.=20
I hiked Cabot Landing Beach on Monday and saw two American Pipits and f=
our Horned lark. There were a number of shorebirds including Sanderling=2C =
Black-bellied Plover and Dunlin. A number of small sandpipers were observed=
on an offshore sandbar=3B too far away for proper ID.
At my house feeders the only bird of interest was a first year Red-brea=
sted Grosbeak.
The most interesting sighting in the last few days was a American Goldf=
inch feeding three begging fledges at my feeders. This is=2C by far=2C the =
latest date I have ever seen fledges begging for food at my house. I wonder=
what are the latest confirmed breeding dates for A. Goldfinch and other fi=
nch species in the province? Because I live at the very top of the province=
and the weather was so wet recently they may have bred very late this seas=
on. All the best.
