Hi,

I was in Digby today, and the general birding was good there too. The day
was beautiful, and I wandered around some scrubby and wooded areas before
and after working. There were Yellow-rumped warblers all over the place,
with a smattering of others, (Magnolia, Palm etc.), and 6+ Palm Warblers in
the bushes near the entrance to the E.R.at Digby Hospital (but they all
looked healthy!). A few Song sparrows, but no others. 1 T.Vulture soaring
over The Pines. Typical of my luck all summer, it's supposed to be a
horrible weekend weather-wise, but maybe the strong winds associated with
the impending system will bring some good birds.

Yesterday eveninfg we had a new "yard bird" - a Hooded Merganser on our
pond.

At the D.U. pond by the New Minas Connector this evening I watched a
G.B.Heron dive bomb a Mallard, which had to duck under the water to avoid a
major blow.

Richard
